We are seeking a dedicated and versatile SEMH Teacher to cover a 3-week paternity leave at a forward-thinking SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Lincoln. This role begins in late January 2025 and involves delivering pre-planned lessons across multiple subjects, including Photography, Business Studies (KS4), Maths, and Science. The school embraces mainstream values and supports students with challenging behaviours, Autism, and ADHD.

About the Role:

  • Deliver engaging and structured lessons using pre-prepared plans across a variety of subjects.
  • Support students with SEMH needs, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using de-escalation strategies and positive reinforcement.
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the diverse needs of the students, ensuring all learners are supported.
  • Collaborate with the school’s team to maintain a supportive and consistent learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience teaching students with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, or similar challenges.
  • Proficiency in teaching a variety of subjects, particularly at KS4 level, is desirable.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills with the ability to build rapport with students.
  • A proactive, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting vulnerable learners.
