We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support a school in Shipley. This is a full-time position, starting in January 2024, and offers the opportunity to work across all year groups in our vibrant two-form entry school. This role be until summer 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality support to class teachers, assisting in the delivery of lessons across all year groups (EYFS to Key Stage 2).
  • Plan and deliver small group and one-to-one interventions for students, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist in the preparation and adaptation of teaching materials to ensure accessibility for all learners, including those with additional learning needs.
  • Take on the role of supervising classes and leading activities in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support the effective management of the classroom, including behaviour management and ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, providing feedback to class teachers to inform planning and interventions.
  • Help to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and assist in developing tailored strategies to meet their individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • Support the overall ethos of the school and contribute to the development of a positive, inclusive school culture.

About You:

  • You must hold an HLTA qualification or equivalent and have proven experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working with children across a range of age groups (EYFS to Key Stage 2) is essential.
  • A strong understanding of the primary school curriculum and strategies for supporting students with varying abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative, and manage your time effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • Passionate about supporting children’s learning and development, with a commitment to ensuring every child achieves their full potential.
  • Strong behaviour management skills, ensuring a positive and productive classroom environment.
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK
