Are you a creative and skilled Design Technology Teacher with expertise in Resistant Materials? Are you passionate about inspiring students to bring their design ideas to life? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Design Technology Teacher at a popular secondary school in Harrogate. This role will start January 2025 and is full-time.

The Role:

  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons in Design Technology, with a focus on Resistant Materials, to students aged 11-18.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that fosters creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Guide students through practical projects, from concept to creation, ensuring they gain hands-on experience with a variety of materials and tools.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in Design Technology or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Resistant Materials at the secondary school level.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of a wide range of materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
