Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, assisting them in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning goals.
2. Collaborate with teaching staff to create and implement personalized learning plans that address the specific needs of each student.
3. Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and supported.
4. Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation techniques, and coping strategies to manage challenging behaviors effectively.
5. Assist in the implementation of behavior management strategies and interventions, maintaining a calm and positive approach at all times.
6. Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff and participating in reviews and planning meetings as required.
7. Act as a positive role model for students, promoting respect, empathy, and resilience in all interactions.
8. Contribute to the overall well-being of students by actively promoting a culture of mutual respect, understanding, and support within the school community.
9. Collaborate with external agencies, parents, and caregivers to ensure a coordinated approach to meeting the holistic needs of students.

Requirements:

1. Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs within an educational setting is highly desirable.
2. A genuine passion for supporting the social, emotional, and mental well-being of young people, coupled with a patient and empathetic approach.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and external stakeholders.
4. Flexibility, resilience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in challenging situations.
5. A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to engage in training and upskilling opportunities as required.
6. Relevant qualifications or training in education, psychology, counseling, or a related field would be advantageous.
