ustteachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist SEND school. This role is perfect for individuals passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to children aged 5 to 18 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Facilitate and support communication and interaction.
  • Assist with personal care and physical needs, as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND is preferred.
  • Understanding of ASD, MLD, and PMLD and the ability to apply this knowledge in a school setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the learning and development of children with SEND.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education is an advantage.
