We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Support Worker to join our team and work with a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a secondary school located in Chorley.

Job Description:

As a 1:1 Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and personal development of a student with SEN. You will work closely with the school’s SEN team to provide tailored support that meets the unique needs of the student, ensuring they have access to a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to a student with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist with the implementation of the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Support the student with their academic work, including helping with classroom tasks and assignments.
  • Promote the student’s social and emotional development, encouraging positive behavior and interactions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to ensure the student’s needs are met.
  • Maintain accurate records of the student’s progress and any concerns that may arise.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, preferably in an educational setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to working with students with diverse needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in education.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support are desirable but not essential.
