We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a vibrant school in Coventry.

Role Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate and adaptable Teaching Assistant to provide essential support to students with SEND, enabling them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement individualised support plans, fostering an inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEND, assisting them with classwork, activities, and personal care as required.
• Implement individualised support strategies and interventions in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO, ensuring the diverse needs of students are met.
• Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social and emotional development through encouragement, empathy, and patience.
• Support students during transitions between activities and settings, promoting independence and confidence.
• Collaborate with the wider school community, including parents, external professionals, and support staff, to ensure the holistic needs of students with SEND are addressed.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in a school setting or alternative care environment.
• Understanding of common SEND conditions and the strategies required to support students effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with SEND.
• Relevant qualifications or training in supporting individuals with SEND (desirable but not essential).
