Role Overview:
As a KS3 Behaviour Support Worker, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting students in Key Stage 3 as they navigate their educational journey. Your primary focus will be on providing personalized support to students with autism, helping them to manage their emotions, develop social skills, and access learning opportunities in a positive and inclusive manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide one-on-one support to students with autism in Key Stage 3, assisting them with academic tasks and social interactions.
  2. Implement behaviour management strategies tailored to the individual needs of students, promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  3. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  4. Foster independence and self-confidence in students by promoting self-advocacy and problem-solving skills.
  5. Support students in developing coping mechanisms and resilience to overcome challenges they may encounter.

Requirements:

  1. Quirky Personality: We’re looking for individuals with a unique and quirky personality who can connect with students on the autism spectrum in creative and engaging ways.
  2. Resilience: The ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations and adapt to the individual needs and preferences of students.
  3. Empathy and Understanding: Demonstrated empathy and understanding of the experiences and challenges faced by individuals with autism.
  4. Team Player: A collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team, sharing insights and expertise to enhance student outcomes.
  5. Relevant Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with autism or in a similar educational setting is advantageous but not essential.
  6. Enhanced DBS Check: Successful completion of an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
