Teaching Assistant – Ilkley

Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team on a supply basis at a large secondary school in Ilkley. The position will be on a full-time basis and will be mainly based in the school’s onsite provision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEN) within a classroom setting.
• Assist in implementing support plans and adapting learning materials to meet students’ needs.
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure students receive the best possible care and education.
• Encourage and support students in their social, emotional, and academic development.
• Contribute to the behaviour management of SEN students in the classroom.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
• A strong understanding of SEN and the ability to work effectively with students with diverse needs.
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
