Role Overview:
As an English SEMH Teacher, you’ll be responsible for delivering engaging and accessible English lessons to students with SEMH needs, ensuring that they have the opportunity to develop their literacy skills and a love for literature. You’ll work closely with our dedicated team to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with SEMH needs, using a variety of teaching strategies and resources.
2. Adapt teaching materials and approaches to ensure accessibility and engagement for students with varying abilities and learning styles.
3. Foster a love for reading and writing through interactive and creative activities that inspire and motivate students.
4. Provide individualized support and guidance to students, helping them to overcome academic and emotional challenges.
5. Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to develop personalized learning plans and interventions for students with SEMH needs.

Requirements:

1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching English at the secondary level.
2. Understanding of SEMH needs and experience working with students who may display challenging behavior.
3. Empathy, patience, and a nurturing approach to supporting students with SEMH needs.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
5. Resilience and adaptability in responding to the individual needs and challenges of students.
6. Enhanced DBS Check: Successful completion of an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
