Job Title: General SEMH Teacher

We are a dedicated and inclusive educational setting in Wakefield, focused on supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We are looking for a passionate and resilient SEMH Teacher to join our team and help shape the future of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Create a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including SENCOs, teaching assistants, and external agencies.
  • Monitor and assess students’ academic progress and emotional well-being.
  • Support students in developing coping strategies and resilience.
  • Engage with parents, carers, and other stakeholders to provide holistic support for students.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school’s inclusive ethos.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a specialist or mainstream setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to supporting the emotional and social development of students.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
