About the Role:

Justteachers, a leading education recruitment agency, is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS3/KS4 Teaching Assistant for a secondary school in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about education and eager to support young learners in their academic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons across KS3 and KS4.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students, helping them to achieve their full potential.
  • Support students with additional learning needs, including SEN (Special Educational Needs), by adapting activities where necessary.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation.
  • Monitor student progress and provide valuable feedback to teachers.
  • Assist with classroom management, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff in planning and preparation of lessons.
  • Help students with homework, revision, and exam preparation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
  • Ability to support students with a range of learning needs, including SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, proactive approach to working with young people.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Teaching Assistant Certificate (Level 2 or 3) are beneficial but not essential.
