£120 - £180 PER DAY DEPENDENT UPON EXPERIENCE

Justteachers teaching agency is recruiting for a passionate and experienced SEND teacher to work within one of our specialist partner SEND schools located in Preston. The school provides education to SEND children with a range of complex needs.

The school is a Specialist College for Communication and Interaction and is committed to the provision of the highest possible quality education for pupils who are experiencing a range of special educational needs, between the ages of 3 and 16.

Their main aim is that the pupils become confident as individuals, responsible as citizens and successful as learners. The school has created a family type atmosphere in which everyone knows, respects and is tolerant of everyone else.

You will encourage all pupils to respect themselves and others as they strive for excellence in all that they do both academically and personally.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the areas of teaching and pupil support. You will demonstrate outstanding practice in the classroom by planning sessions that meet the learning needs of allocated pupils in a consistent and effective way and use appropriate teaching and classroom management strategies to motivate pupils and enable each to progress.

The ideal candidate will be committed to the growth of the school by assessing pupil progress and take steps to ensure that any underachievement is addressed and maintain appropriate records to demonstrate progress made by pupils. Expressing passion about learning by participating fully in professional development activities to develop practice further, sharing the learning from these as appropriate and make an active contribution to the policies and aspirations of the school.

You will have:

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Two education/school-based references
  • Experience teaching or supporting children with SLD, PMLD and ASC
  • Experience of feeding and changing
  • Energy, enthusiasm and vision
  • Innovative lesson delivery
  • A creative and inspiring attitude
