justteachers is recruiting on behalf of one of our partner SEMH (social, emotional, mental health) schools on the outskirts of Watton.

We are looking for a full time SEMH Learning Support Assistant to work 5 days per week across the school supporting the class teacher, working on a 1:1 and sometimes group basis to help pupils who need additional support or encouragement. As an LSA at an SEMH school, you will work closely with students facing mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and trauma-related issues. You will play a vital role in helping them engage with their education, build resilience, and develop positive coping strategies. Working within an alternative provision, you’ll support students who may have struggled in mainstream education, ensuring they have the tools and guidance to succeed.

  • Flexibility and adaptability are a must
  • You will have previous experience working with children or with adults with SEN/SEMH
  • You must have a calm nature and be able to build positive working relationships with both staff and pupils

This role will begin in October 2024 and may offer the successful applicant a permanent position with the school. To be successful, you must meet the above criteria and also have:

  • 2 references dated within the last 24 months, ideally within an educational setting
  • Current, clear enhanced DBS
  • Complete our registration process
