Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS3/KS4 Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people in their academic and personal development. The role is to start in September and is full-time, providing long-term support within a supportive and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the class teacher to provide targeted support to students in both KS3 and KS4.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring all students have access to the curriculum.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students who may need additional help with learning or emotional support.
• Help manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment.
• Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or those facing other barriers to learning.
• Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and classroom resources.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers to support ongoing assessment and intervention strategies.
• Participate in school activities, extracurricular programs, and staff meetings to contribute to the wider school community.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with secondary school students (KS3 and KS4).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• A patient, empathetic, and supportive approach to working with young people.
• Understanding of the secondary school curriculum and the ability to support learning in subjects across KS3 and KS4.
• Experience working with students with SEN or other learning challenges is desirable.
• A proactive, flexible, and collaborative attitude to supporting the wider school team.
• Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, would be advantageous but not essential.
