Job Description: Justteachers is seeking a passionate and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Bury, Greater Manchester. This is a full-time, permanent position starting in September. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging Food Technology lessons to students in KS3 and KS4, helping them develop essential skills and knowledge in food preparation, nutrition, and healthy living.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Teach students a variety of food preparation techniques, nutrition, and food safety principles.
• Foster a positive and creative classroom environment where students can explore and develop their culinary skills.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students, including those with special educational needs (SEN).
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to help students improve their skills and understanding.
• Prepare students for practical assessments and coursework in Food Technology, ensuring they meet GCSE requirements.
• Promote an understanding of healthy eating, sustainable food sources, and ethical cooking practices.
• Collaborate with other teachers in the Design & Technology department to enrich the curriculum and enhance student engagement.
• Participate in school activities, parent evenings, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in Food Technology, Design Technology, or a related field.
• Experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary school level (KS3 and KS4).
• Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and GCSE specifications for Food Technology.
• A passion for food, cooking, and educating students about nutrition and health.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
• Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Commitment to professional development and openness to adopting new teaching strategies.
