Secondary 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Keighley

Justteachers is seeking a committed and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in the Keighley area on a supply basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a student who requires additional support, ensuring they receive the attention and guidance needed to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with specific learning needs, helping them overcome challenges in the classroom
• Assist in the development and implementation of tailored learning strategies in collaboration with classroom teachers and the SENDCO
• Build a trusting relationship with the student, encouraging their confidence, independence, and academic progress
• Monitor and report on the student’s progress, adapting your approach as needed to support their individual needs
• Ensure a safe, nurturing, and positive learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role is essential, particularly in working with students with additional learning needs
• Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is preferred, but those with strong experience will be considered
• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role. You will need to demonstrate a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• You must have a valid enhanced DBS check (or be willing to apply for one) and be able to provide two references
