Job Description: Justteachers is seeking a dedicated and proactive Secondary Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. This is a full-time position, ideal for someone looking to support students in KS3 and KS4, working closely with teachers to create a supportive and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging lessons, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to participate and progress.
• Work 1:1 or with small groups of students, particularly those with additional needs, to help them overcome learning challenges and achieve their potential.
• Assist in planning and adapting resources to meet the needs of students with special educational needs (SEN) and varying learning abilities.
• Monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to the teacher and contributing to the development of tailored support plans.
• Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged and motivated to learn.
• Assist in preparing materials and organizing activities that enhance students’ learning experience.
• Manage behaviour effectively, promoting a respectful and focused learning atmosphere.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to ensure the well-being and academic development of students.
• Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development to enhance your skills and contribute to the school community.

Requirements:

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within a secondary school setting.
• Knowledge of strategies to support students with SEN and diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and staff.
• Ability to adapt and work flexibly to meet the individual needs of students.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively to support learning.
• A commitment to supporting student progress and well-being in a collaborative, inclusive school environment.
• Willingness to engage in professional development and contribute to the wider school community.
