Justteachers are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a Year 4 child who has speech and language difficulties at a lovely primary school in Solihull. The school is well regarded by the community and Ofsted and is known for its supportive environment and fantastic staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 4 child with speech and language difficulties
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning plans
  • Support the child’s development of communication skills
  • Use tools like Makaton to aid communication (experience with Makaton is highly advantageous)
  • Foster a nurturing and encouraging environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working with children with speech and language difficulties
  • Familiarity with Makaton or other speech and language support tools is beneficial
  • A patient, caring, and supportive approach to working with children
  • Strong communication skills
