The Role:

As a History Teacher, you will have the opportunity to bring history to life, guiding students through significant events, eras, and figures that have shaped the world. We are looking for someone who can engage students with thought-provoking lessons and encourage critical thinking, helping them to develop a deeper understanding of history and its relevance to their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach History across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the potential for involvement in Key Stage 5
• Develop and deliver engaging lessons that explore key historical themes, events, and debates
• Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, inquiry, and a passion for learning
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing tailored feedback and support
• Collaborate with colleagues in the Humanities department to ensure a high standard of teaching and curriculum development
• Promote historical literacy and critical analysis skills, preparing students for exams and future studies

About You:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
• Specialism or significant experience in teaching History
• Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire a love for history in students
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Passionate about professional growth and reflective teaching practices
