Our partner school are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve academic success. The ideal candidate will be patient, empathetic, and proactive, with a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students.
  • Promote positive behaviour and social interactions among students.
  • Support students in developing coping strategies and resilience.
  • Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in education or child development (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to promoting the welfare of children.
