Justteachers are supporting a Secondary School in Leeds who are looking to appoint a full time Teaching Assistant who has the skills and flexibility to work with pupils with a range of educational needs. The school provides an inclusive and welcoming environment in which students can progress and develop to achieve the best possible outcomes. This post would suit someone looking for a career as Teaching Assistant or for experience to support a step into teaching.
The successful candidate will have Maths and English GCSE, grade C (or equivalent) or above, well developed organisational and communication skills and a basic understanding of child development and learning strategies. An awareness of special educational needs and disabilities would be useful.
This is a varied role and duties will include: supporting pupils’ learning and overall well-being; assisting teachers and other colleagues in the classroom and in small group interventions; recording and collating information; supporting the implementation of whole school strategies, including literacy.
The school are ideally looking for a candidate with a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools although other relevant experience will also be considered.
