Design Technology Teacher

Justteachers is seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Design Technology Teacher for a full-time position at a well-respected secondary school in Stratford.  This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or a newly qualified teacher (NQT) looking to make a meaningful impact on students’ education and creativity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Design Technology (DT) across Key Stages 3 and 4 (including subjects such as Resistant Materials, Graphics, Product Design, or Textiles)
• Develop engaging and innovative lessons that inspire students to explore their creativity and technical skills
• Prepare students for practical and theoretical assessments, ensuring progress and achievement
• Maintain a positive learning environment that fosters student development and academic success
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s DT curriculum and resources
• Ensure health and safety standards are upheld in the DT classroom/workshop

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Specialization or experience in Design Technology
• Strong classroom management skills with a focus on student engagement
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of different learners
• Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement

Desirable:

• Experience teaching across a range of DT specialisms (e.g., woodwork, metalwork, CAD/CAM)
• Familiarity with current curriculum standards and assessment frameworks
• Experience working with SEN students or in inclusive education
