justteachers are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools to cover a maternity leave.

Job Summary:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers to provide learning support across different subjects, help pupils with individual needs, and foster a supportive classroom environment. Your role will involve assisting with classroom activities, guiding small group work, and offering one-on-one support to pupils who need additional assistance with their learning or development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support to pupils, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in classroom activities.
  • Work with small groups or individual pupils, providing tailored support and guidance as directed by the class teacher.
  • Assist in preparing classroom materials and resources to support lesson delivery.
  • Support the social, emotional, and academic development of pupils, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and share relevant observations with the teaching team.
  • Assist with classroom management, encouraging positive behavior and participation.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to contribute to a safe and engaging learning environment.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in a primary school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and colleagues.
  • A patient, adaptable, and caring approach to working with young children.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is beneficial but not essential.
  • Understanding of primary curriculum and learning strategies for young learners.
