Teaching Assistant Thetford

Justteachers are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner primary schools in Thetford. This long-term supply role is perfect for a candidate passionate about creating an inclusive, engaging learning environment where each child’s educational needs are met. Experience with primary-aged children, especially those with special educational needs (SEN), is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the lead teacher in planning and delivering interactive lessons and activities tailored to each child’s needs.
• Provide one-on-one assistance to students, particularly those with SEN, ensuring they reach their individual learning goals.
• Encourage a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes student participation and collaboration.
• Keep detailed records of student progress and behavior, and communicate any concerns to the lead teacher.

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting and/or a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• SEN experience is an asset but not essential.
• Ability to engage and support children using creative teaching methods suited to their learning styles.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to fostering children’s development and learning.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
