£85 - £100 PER DAY DEPENDENT UPON EXPERIENCE

Justteachers are currently recruiting for an experienced SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and supportive school in Coventry. This is a full-time, long-term position with the potential to go permanent for the right candidate. You will be working with students who have a range of additional needs, including SEN (Special Educational Needs) and SEMH challenges. Your role will involve providing one-on-one and group support, helping students to engage with learning and develop social and emotional skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with SEN and SEMH needs on an individual or small-group basis
  • Develop strong, positive relationships with students to encourage engagement and personal development
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, classroom management, and activity organization tailored to the students’ unique needs
  • Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and other professionals
  • Help to create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with other staff and professionals to implement effective support strategies

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN and SEMH students is essential
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN/SEMH support are highly desirable
