Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and empathetic SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to work on a supply basis in a school in Nuneaton. This role involves working with children with complex needs, including SEN and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) challenges. We are looking for a dedicated candidate who is available to start as soon as possible and can provide essential support to students on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small-group support for students with complex SEN and SEMH needs
• Develop positive relationships with students, encouraging engagement and personal growth
• Assist the teaching team in implementing learning plans tailored to students’ unique requirements
• Monitor and report student progress, collaborating with staff to make adjustments as necessary
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Work closely with other staff and professionals to provide holistic support for students

Requirements:

• Prior experience working with SEN and SEMH students is essential
• A compassionate, patient approach, with a commitment to supporting young people’s social and emotional development
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varying needs of students
• Relevant qualifications or training in SEN/SEMH support (desirable but not essential)
