Our partner school is a specialised Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) school in Boston, Lincolnshire, they are dedicated to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for students facing significant emotional and behavioral challenges. Role Overview:

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Mentor to join our team. This role focuses on providing holistic support to students, addressing their emotional, social, and behavioural needs. The successful candidate will work closely with students, families, and staff to ensure a comprehensive support system that promotes well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build trusting relationships with students to provide emotional and behavioral support.
  • Develop and implement individualized pastoral care plans.
  • Work one-on-one and in small groups to address specific needs and challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to create a cohesive support network.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, adapting support strategies as needed.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive school environment.
  • Liaise with parents and carers to maintain open communication and consistent support.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of programs and activities that promote emotional well-being and social skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience working in a pastoral role or similar capacity, ideally within an SEMH or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of the impact of trauma on young people.
  • Proven ability to manage challenging behaviors with empathy and effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
