1:1 Teaching Assistant Boston

The Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Teaching Assistant to work one-on-one with a child in Year 2 who has ADHD. The role involves supporting the child in managing their focus, behaviour, and engagement with classroom activities to ensure they can thrive in a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 child with ADHD, helping them stay on task and manage behaviors in a positive manner
• Assist the child with understanding and completing classroom tasks, under the guidance of the class teacher
• Foster a positive, supportive, and structured learning atmosphere tailored to the child’s unique needs
• Collaborate with the classroom teacher and SEN team to follow and implement individualized learning plans
• Monitor the child’s progress and report observations to teaching staff, offering insights to help refine support strategies

Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday, 8:45 am – 2:00 pm (part-time) – this role complies with AWR (2010) regulations protecting agency workers’ rights.
• Duration: This role is to start immediately and is expected to continue until February 2025.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience working with children, ideally in an educational setting
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
• An understanding of ADHD and strategies for supporting children with attention and behavioral needs
• A positive attitude and a flexible, adaptive approach to different classroom environments
• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is preferred, but not essential
