School Cook

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meals to our customers while adhering to food safety standards and maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment. You will also be required to build relationships with the children as you will be a familiar face to them daily.

Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications.
• Be creative with meal plans
• Order stock accordingly and prepare delivery times
• Assist in the planning and preparation of meals, ensuring all ingredients are fresh and of high quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal service during busy periods.
• Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management.
• Help train new kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred.
• Clear enhanced DBS on the update system
• Knowledge of food safety practices and culinary techniques is highly desirable.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
• A passion for cooking and creating delicious meals that delight customers.
