SEMH Cover Supervisor Boston

We are working with a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school located in Boston, Lincolnshire. The school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for students with SEMH needs. They focus on creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our partner school’s dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students continue to learn and engage with their studies. This role requires a confident and adaptable individual with a passion for working with young people with SEMH needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise classes during the absence of a regular teacher, ensuring students remain on task with their learning.
• Implement pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students complete set work.
• Manage classroom behavior in line with school policies, promoting a positive learning environment.
• Provide support to students with SEMH needs, fostering their social and emotional development.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure continuity of learning.
• Assist with other duties as required, including supporting extracurricular activities and school events.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience working in a school environment is desirable but not essential.
• Experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively.
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
