We are seeking a talented and compassionate Special Education Teacher to inspire and empower our students to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and differentiated instruction to engage students with diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists, counsellors, and support staff, to address students’ holistic needs.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching methods as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Provide positive behaviour support and implement effective behaviour management techniques to promote a safe and conducive learning environment.
  • Establish strong relationships with students, families, and caregivers to facilitate communication and partnership in the educational process.
  • Stay current with best practices in special education and SEMH interventions through professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques, de-escalation strategies, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for working with students with diverse learning needs and a commitment to their success.
