About the Role

As an English Teacher, you will bring literature, language, and creative writing to life in the classroom. You’ll have the opportunity to foster a love of reading, critical thinking, and self-expression among students. This role requires someone who can connect with learners of all abilities, inspiring them to reach their potential and helping them develop essential literacy skills that will benefit them academically and personally.

What You’ll Do

• Teach English Language and Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the possibility to teach Key Stage 5
• Deliver engaging lessons covering a wide range of texts, writing styles, and communication skills
• Encourage students to develop their analytical skills, exploring themes, characters, and author intent
• Track and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their improvement
• Collaborate with the English department on curriculum planning and development
• Create a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel comfortable expressing their ideas and opinions

About You

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for both English Language and Literature
• Proven ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities using creative and adaptable teaching methods
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective teaching practices
