About the Role

As an English Teacher, you’ll bring literature, language, and creative writing to life in the classroom. You will have the chance to foster a love of reading, critical thinking, and self-expression among students. This role requires an individual who can connect with students of varying abilities, inspiring them to reach their potential and helping them develop essential literacy skills for their academic and personal growth.

What You’ll Do

• Teach English Language and Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the possibility to teach at Key Stage 5
• Deliver engaging lessons that cover a diverse range of texts, writing styles, and communication skills
• Cultivate students’ analytical skills, encouraging them to explore themes, characters, and author intent
• Track and assess student progress, providing meaningful feedback to support improvement
• Work collaboratively with the English department on curriculum planning and development
• Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel confident expressing their ideas and opinions

About You

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
• A strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English, both Language and Literature
• Proven ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities through creative and adaptable teaching strategies
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective teaching practices
