An opportunity has arisen within a Secondary school based near Spalding for a Learning support Assistant. The school’s modern buildings benefit from state-of-the-art facilities, the is known for its pleasant atmosphere and staff enjoy working here. This position is in a highly supportive school on a full-time basis with a starting ASAP and will be made permanent after an initial probationary period.

About the role;

  • Full time position supporting learners throughout the secondary age range, this could include supporting on a 1:1 basis with a pupil with specific Special Educational Needs or supporting general on whole class basis
  • Graduates with a subject specific background – Art, Science, Maths, English, Design and Technology or candidates fluent in an additional language – Spanish, French, German etc will be considered for department specialist roles.
  • You will need to be a positive role model who is willing to work and overcome the boundaries/challenges required to make a positive impact to the pupil’s education and wellbeing
  • You will need to work as part of a team, including liaising with teachers, support staff and external agencies to support the learning, behaviour, physical and emotional well-being of students

Role requirements;

  • Teaching Assistant qualification or subject specific Degree desired but not essential
  • Previous referenceable experience of support pupils within education or transferable Special Educational needs experience such as a Support Worker, Sports Coach etc
  • Resilience, ability to see through and overcome challenging behaviours to ensure each pupil achieves to their best ability
  • A sense of humour and ability to form relationships quickly
