Teaching Assistant Harrogate

We are seeking a enthusiastic and caring Nursery Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and friendly team at a local primary school in Harrogate. As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the early years classroom, helping children aged 3-5 to develop key skills in a fun and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the classroom teacher with day-to-day activities and routines.
• Supporting individual and small group learning, both in and outside the classroom.
• Encouraging children’s personal, social, and emotional development.
• Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Supervising children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Assisting with preparing and organising resources for activities.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to be:

• Passionate about working with young children and eager to make a difference in their learning journey.
• Patient, empathetic, and able to build strong relationships with children.
• Able to work collaboratively with the class teacher and other staff.
• Flexible and adaptable, with a positive approach to supporting the needs of the classroom.

Requirements:

• Experience working in a nursery, early years, or school setting is desirable but not essential.
• A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent is advantageous.
• A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
