General Cover Teacher in Halifax

We are working with a vibrant secondary school in Halifax that requires a confident and reliable General Cover Teacher. You will be responsible for delivering pre-set lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task.

Strong behavior management skills are essential to maintain a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, in a variety of subjects, with pre-set work provided.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a focused and respectful learning environment.
• Adapt to different subjects and year groups with flexibility and enthusiasm.
• Provide support and guidance to students in the absence of their regular teacher.
• Uphold the school’s policies on behavior, safeguarding, and pupil well-being.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Have experience teaching or working with secondary-age students.
• Demonstrate strong behavior management techniques and classroom control.
• Be adaptable and able to quickly build rapport with students and staff.
• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or have experience as a Cover Supervisor/Instructor (Unqualified Teachers welcome to apply).
• Be available for either short-term or long-term placements.
