£85 - £95 PER DAY DEPENDENT UPON EXPERIENCE

Justteachers is working with an SEN school who are looking for a full time or part time Teaching assistant who has experience working with children with SEMH before. This school is a well-respected educational institution in Stratford, dedicated to providing specialized support and education to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge and skills in supporting SEMH students.
  • Work closely with SEMH students, providing individualised support and assistance to help them manage their social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to create and implement behaviour management plans and strategies tailored to each student’s needs.
  • Foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment that promotes emotional well-being and social development.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to SEMH students, helping them build self-esteem and develop coping skills.
  • Collaborate with parents and guardians to monitor and report on student progress.
  • Working with students who are also physically disabled

Things you will need:

  • Experience working within a special needs school, but not essential
  • Experience working with SEMH students
  • Experience working in Primary schools or Secondary schools as a teaching assistant
  • Two references
  • Passionate about your work
  • Wants to make a difference to young people’s education
  • Have an idea about supporting children with SEN in education would be beneficial.
