We fully support and recognise the driving factors behind the recent DfE Recruitment and Retention strategy, in order to ensure teachers are given the vital support in their early career and throughout – notably the emphasis on job sharing and flexible working conditions. Our passion and belief in this is further demonstrated by the launch of our Flexi scheme, which was introduced back in 2018.

As reported this week by GOV.UK, a panel of experts, led by Professor Sam Twiselton OBE @Sheffield Hallam University, are making recommendations about underpinning an updated training programme to include within the EarlyCareerFramework which we would like to share:https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-support-for-trainee-teachers

Re-assessing the training and support provided in the early years in a teaching career will hopefully go some way to addressing some of the issues in retaining new teachers – coupled with the heightened emphasis on wellbeing and the importance of this consideration in the workplace.
