justteachers are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
Our commitment to safeguarding is just one of the reasons that justteachers is a leading and respected teaching agency; we place safeguarding at the core of everything we do. We believe and support the NSPCC statement that ‘Everyone has a responsibility to keep children and young people safe’.
So what does safeguarding mean? Safeguarding is defined in “Working together to safeguard children 2013” as:
- protecting children from maltreatment
- preventing impairment of children’s health and development
- ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care and
- taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes
We are committed to adhering to and exceeding the DfE guidelines for recruitment laid down in ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’, as a result all teachers and support staff supplied to schools by justteachers have been screened in accordance with these guidelines.
In addition to the DfE guidelines, the NSPCC state that all staff who work with children should have received child protection training. Justteachers ensures that all teachers who have not undertaken safeguarding training in the last twelve months (and those that have undertaken it in the last twelve months but do not have a certificate) have access to an accredited safeguarding training portal where they can complete child protection for free.
